KTPs are designed to allow recent graduates to benefit your business and stretch their intellectual legs, meaning we make it as easy as possible for you. There are several steps to attaining a KTP, but most of the work rests with us.
The University and your business may complete an initial “Fact Finder” form to ascertain the eligibility of the project and list its benefits. Your project will be discussed with the regional KTP advisor, who will offer their thoughts, expert advice and raise any concerns ahead of the next stage. A full application proposal is then developed. This is led by the university, allowing you to focus on your business during this time.
Once the KTP has been approved (up to 12 weeks), we jointly hire an associate to start working on your project. The associate is assigned joint supervision from the University and business and is able to access a host of research materials.

The average total cost of a KTP is £70k - £90k per annum, but a grant is available to cover 67% for SMEs and 50% for large businesses. This makes the typical KTP cost £30k and £45k for SMEs and large businesses respectively. This covers a contribution towards the employment of the associate, half a day a week of academic support from the university, travel, and training.
