Britishness at the Margins: Daphne du Maurier and Cornish Identity


This study examines Cornish national identity that many regard as being distinct from Englishness, but specifically to look at the role that the novels of Daphne du Maurier played in the construction of Cornish identity.

This workshop will bring together key established European scholars working in the trans field, in order to develop chapters, which will be published in an edited collection. It will address citizenship and recognition, welfare regimes, and social movements. 

ESRC Seminar Series: “Northern Ireland: memory, commemoration and public symbolism - dealing with the past”

This project, dealing with issues of political identity, aimed to provide the first detailed database of the demography, politics, religiosity and social views of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) membership.

Professor Monro contributed to a large project recently completed by the LGBT Consortium (funded by the Equality and Human Rights Commission) on behalf of Bi UK.
 Professor Monro is Co-Investigator on a small study about LGBT identities and space, with Dr Tim Gomersall as PI, and Dr Alex Bridger and Dr Anna Howell as the other Co-Investigators.Psychogeography is an approach for analysing links between place, identity and experience.
