A purpose-built Faraday cage, allowing the development and testing of digital forensic techniques in an isolated frequency enclosure. A Faraday cage provides an essential environment for digital forensic analysis, where income and outgoing radio communications are blocked. This is necessary when analysing mobile phones, tablets and other wireless-connected devices. The facility is used for both research and teaching purposes. In research, it is used as an isolated environment to test and develop new forensic techniques; in teaching it is used to allow students to gain practical forensic experience.
