Prof Murtagh is a member of:

 

• ODI, Open Data Institute, established by Sirs Tim Berners-Lee and Nigel Shadbolt.
• RDA, Research Data Alliance.
• Board member, EuADS, European Association of Data Science.
• Long term Board member, Classification Society (Classification Society of North America), ex-President, 2008-2009.  Ex-President, British Classification Society, currently Secretary. 

He is a representative in the University of Huddersfield of the London Mathematical Society and a Fellow of IMA, Institute of Mathematics and Its Applications, Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society, Fellow of British Computer Society, elected Fellow of IAPR, International Association for Pattern Recognition. Prof Murtagh is also an elected member of scholarly academies, Academia Europaea, Royal Irish Academy, EU Academy of Sciences.

 

Prof Lee has links to MACSI (Adj Professorship), ICMS e.g. regular mentor at modelling workshops, Newton Institute (correspondent) and MI-NET and has published papers with coauthors from Philips, Analog Devices, Rusal Aughinish Alumina and Teva Pharmaceuticals

Impact and Public Engagement

• Approximately 30 books authored or edited, and about 300 refereed papers published.
• Member of many journal Editorial Boards.  Formerly Editor-in-Chief of the Computer Journal, the second longest established leading research journal in computer science (the longest established, JACM).  Now Section Editor of Section C, Computational Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Analytics. 
• Prof. Murtagh has been an advisor to quite a few successful companies, and maintains this role in some cases.
