The Future Mobility Lab (FML) looks to promote the study of sustainable and socially inclusive mobility and automated, connected, alternatively fuelled, and shared transport and inspire travel behaviour change. Research that helps decarbonising transport by making private car use less indispensable or drastically smarter is critical for creating pathways to more liveable futures. FML will evaluate transformative innovations like Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs), Mobility-as-a-Service, Electric Vehicles, Micro-mobility, Hyperloop, Personal Aerial Vehicles and transport measures in need of revitalization like Bike-sharing, Transit Oriented Development, Walking School Buses, Road Pricing and Parking Management. This interdisciplinary initiative combines business, behavioural, planning and engineering approaches to study how a socio-technical transition to sustainable futures is achievable through making transport a more intelligent, pro-environmental, resource-efficient, health-improving, equitable and safe medium.
