International collaborations and networks

GDRC currently enjoys a large number of international, strategically important partnerships with over fifty international universities and institutions. These partnerships are with organisations that share our mission to play a leading role in shaping the built and human environment, and its links to disaster mitigation and reconstruction. They also demonstrate the global reach of the Centre, spanning institutions in Asia, Africa, North America, Europe, and Australia.

We have field specific partnerships with world‐leading institutions to develop and extend our research quality, recognising that these should be based on mutual benefit:

  • Target partnerships with key international institutions to address under-utilised opportunities, ensuring coordination with our wider internationalisation strategy
  • Use European partnerships to increase presence and influence in EU programmes
  • Use strategic business partnerships to drive high quality high impact research
