External Relationships

The leadership team of HuCPeR have many links with external organisations, mainly through the status of contributors as practicing musicians and scholars. These include professional performance groups (Apartment House, Four’s Company, Meiningen Ensemble, Rose Consort of Viols), amateur/semi-professional performance groups (Harrogate Philharmonic Orchestra, Sheffield Chamber Orchestra, Sheffield Chamber Choir, York Chamber Orchestra), festivals (Dartington International Summer School, Göttingen International Handel Festival, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, York Early Music Festival), and trusts & centres(Little Benslow Music Trust, National Centre for Early MusicViola da Gamba Society of Great Britain, and Handel Institute). Members of the centre are also involved in a-scholarly work (such as David Milsom’s regular CD reviewing for The Strad magazine, and other aspects of music journalism).

Primarily through the medium of concert performance, all members of the centre are engaged actively in an outward-facing stance, underpinning their practical work with research, and disseminating these aspects directly to concert audiences locally, nationally, and internationally.
