The Measurement and Data Analysis Group (MDAG) specialises in the development of accurate information processing systems for machinery condition and performance diagnosis.

Based on advanced computing, sensing, information and communication technologies, the MIDAS team investigate machine dynamics models and develop innovative diagnostics oriented models, allowing them to conceptualise and develop effective signal sensing and processing methods to capture condition monitoring information from various signal sources including vibration, instantaneous electric current, airborne acoustics, acoustic emissions, angular speed, and process control parameters.
