Ibad Kureshi, NES Campus Champion, HPC Resource Centre administrator and PhD researcher
Ibad had contributed greatly to the development and deployment of the HPC resources at theUniversityofHuddersfield, both in his Masters by research work, and currently in his PhD research. He has linked disparate computing resources into a Queensgate Campus Grid –QGG.
As a results of his experimental work on the university’s HPC resources, and successful production trials, the University of Huddersfield has achieved affiliated membership of the NES (former NGS), Nation e-Infrastructure Service that supports sharing of HPC resources among top UK universities
Ibad has helped to promote HPC among the research community at theUniversityofHuddersfieldby delivering training and support to our researchers and organising meetings and seminars. He is leading the HPC administrators group, supporting day to day running, maintenance and update of the HPC resources. He facilitated growth of HPC users at theUniversityofHuddersfieldfrom 2 in 2008 to over 100 users in 2012.
