Interactive Research in Music as Sound: Ethnomusicology

IRiMaS is investigating how an interactive aural approach using software can aid the study of music, especially those musics where traditional Western notation is not the norm. This includes the many aural/oral traditions found in world music. A tradition of improvised (sung) poetry from central Italy is the subject of one of our main Case Studies.
