Welcome to ReCePP: the Research Centre in Performance Practices

Established in 2018, ReCePP brings together Huddersfield's world-leading practitioners specialising in practice-research, performance studies, and artistic research across a range of disciplines including music, drama and dance.

ReCePP creates a space for cross-disciplinary conversations and the sharing of perspectives on performance research through its regular seminar series 'Lines of Flight', and annual Postgraduate Study Day. ReCePP is home to a number of research groups that encourage collaboration and the exchange of ideas around topics such as Mindfulness and Performance, Nineteenth-Century Performance, and Improvisation. It also hosts externally-funded research projects led by ReCePP staff, including the Judaica Project (AHRC/Dr Ben Spatz) and (Re)Constructing early Recordings (Leverhulme/Dr Inja Stanovic).
