Welcome to ReCePP: the Research Centre for Performance Practices

Established in 2018, ReCePP brings together Huddersfield's world-leading practitioners and scholars specialising in practice-research, performance studies, and historical, critical and analytical approaches to performing arts disciplines including music, drama and dance.

ReCePP creates space for cross-disciplinary conversations and the sharing of perspectives on performance research through its regular seminar series and annual Postgraduate Study Day. ReCePP is home to a number of research groups that encourage collaboration and the exchange of ideas around topics such as Mindfulness and Performance and Nineteenth-Century Performance Practices. It also hosts externally-funded research projects led by ReCePP staff, including the Judaica Project (AHRC/Dr Ben Spatz) and (Re)Constructing early Recordings (Leverhulme/Dr Inja Stanovic).
