Biography

Dr Van Tung Tran is currently a Research Fellow attached to both the Measurement Systems/Data Analysis and the Condition Monitoring/Diagnostics Research Groups in the Centre for Efficiency and Performance Engineering. He received his first class honours BSc, MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Hochiminh City University of Technology, Vietnam, and PhD from Pukyong National University, Korea. In 2010, he returned to Pukyong National University to be a research fellow to continuously investigate machine fault diagnosis and prognosis and dedicate his lectures to graduated students as well. Dr Tran’s expertise is in signal and image processing, time-series forecasting, machine learning, and reliability techniques for machine condition monitoring, fault diagnosis, and prognosis.
