Caroline Pringle has been a Senior Lecturer in Journalism and Media since 2011, teaching primarily in practical journalism – Digital Radio Production and Magazine Design and Production. Before that she worked for the university in web production, supporting both research sites and the undergraduate promotional site. In addition she has designed, developed and maintained a range of small business and hobby sites, using a range of platforms, including Drupal and Wordpress. Following a background in corporate media production, primarily in video, working freelance in this field for 8 years; she moved into interactive multimedia production, diversifying into web authoring, and web design.
Caroline is currently studying for a PhD investigating digital audiences, Caroline is particularly interested in using mixed methodologies, utalising new and emerging digital methods alongside traditional research methods.

Module Leader for Digital Radio Production a second year Broadcast Journalism module that draws, broadcasting, journalism and practical skills culminating in the running of an internet radio station, complete with news programme, regular podcasts and blogs and online promotion. Module Leader for Magazine Design and Production a second year module that includes page design and the full life cycle of magazine production, including a digital strategy. Both modules embrace team-teaching, student enterprise and engage consistently with industry professionals via guest lectures and workshops. Other areas of teaching are grounded in digital and online expertise; data journalism, crowd sourcing and crowd funding and social networking in journalism.
