Yunshi graduated from Southwest Jiaotong University in 2010 with a Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering. After that he joined the Rail Technology Unit at Manchester Metropolitan University as a PhD student.

In 2012, the Rail Technology Unit staff transferred to the University of Huddersfield and forms the Institutes of Rail Research.

Yunshi started working as a research fellow after he successfully defended his thesis in February 2014.

Research and Scholarship

Yunshi's PhD focused on indirect approaches to monitor the friction coefficient between the wheel and rail surfaces.

Yunshi is currently working on the RSSB strategic partnership project, analysing SPADs incidents.
