Natalie joined the University of Huddersfield as a Lecturer in the Law School in 2014, teaching on the professional practice courses and undergraduate academic courses.

Natalie studied at the University of Huddersfield to attain her LLB, LPC and qualified as a Solicitor in 2007, specialising in family and child care law.

Research and Scholarship

Natalie is interested in research in all aspects of family law. Natalie obtained the LLM (Distinction) on the area of Cohabitation law, in particular whether the Government should enact legislation to provide a financial remedy to cohabitees upon relationship breakdown.

Natalie is currently studying for a PhD under the supervision of Dr Bernard Gallagher and Dr Grainne McMahon at the University of Huddersfield.  The current working title is ‘The defences of loss of Control and Self Defence are not adequate to ensure victims of domestic abuse do not become victims of the criminal justice system’.

Natalie is the Honorary Secretary to the Huddersfield and Dewsbury Incorporated Law Society.

Administrative Responsibilities

Natalie is Co Year Two Tutor LLB, Placement Champion and Admissions Tutor, GDL.

Teaching and Professional Activities

Natalie is the Module Leader for the Family Law on the MLP and LLB routes and Module Leader for Administration of Justice and Human Rights.
