Qualifications:  BSc (Hons), PGCE, MA, MBPsS, SFHEA

I joined the University of Huddersfield in 2015 as Head of Division for Initial Teacher Education although I have been associated with the School of Education and Professional Development for more than 10 years.

Previously, I taught in Further Education colleges (FE) for 15 years in addition to being a Centre Manager for Teacher Education, Head of Teaching, Learning, Assessment & Quality and an Advanced Practitioner for much of that time.  In 2010 I trained as an Ofsted Inspector for teacher education undertaking mock inspections for colleges and training organisations.

My first degree is in psychology and I maintain a keen interest in this subject, training as a psychotherapist in 2008.   My membership with the British Psychological Society is ongoing.

I have a PGCE, Post Graduate qualification in Coaching and my MA was in Education and Professional Development.  I am currently studying for a Doctor of Education award at the University with a research interest in the identity formation of teacher educators.  My other lifelong interest is in autism, particularly people on the spectrum in mainstream education.

I am course leader for the Pre-Service education courses here at the School of Education and Professional Development and also for the wider HUDCETT Consortium colleges. I also teach the In-Service trainees.
