Biography

Jenny joined the journalism and media staff in 2016 as a University Practitioner (Public Relations and Magazine Journalism).

She works mainly on Mondays and Tuesdays, currently on undergraduate modules in PR and Working In The Media, from the perspective of being a current practitioner in the PR industry.

Jenny combines her university work with a part-time role as an account manager at Scriba PR, an award-winning technical specialist PR agency in Huddersfield. 

She is a former press officer for National Day Nurseries Association, a campaigning charity that supports childcare providers, and communications manager for Great Places Housing Group, a large, sector-leading housing association in Manchester.

Jenny started her career as a news reporter for the Huddersfield Daily Examiner aged 19 and has also worked as a Feature Writer and production journalist. She became head of content at the Examiner before moving into PR.

She has a BA Hons degree in fine art from Leeds Arts University (2012) which she studied for part-time. She also has a Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) postgraduate diploma (2009) and a National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) qualification.

Jenny’s key area of expertise is public relations and communications, particularly in the public and third (charity/community) sectors

Jenny teaches mainly undergraduate PR modules.
