Research and Scholarship

Robert is currently undertaking a PhD with investigatory research centred on the management of the design and development of products and specifically how the use of digital tools influence this process. His research is focussed on the margin between physical and digital concept modelling and how this can influence kinaesthetic understanding for novice designers.

Robert is an active researcher as part of the product design team and is also currently involved in a number of ongoing research and enterprise projects. A recent example of this is the WAAA! Project, a finalist in UNICEF's Wearables for Good challenge in conjunction with Dr David Swann. Robert was responsible for the design and 3D modelling of the device.
