Biography

I am a lecturer in Graphic Design and Animation in the School of Art Design and Architecture. I joined the university full time in September 2015 after contributing part time to the courses throughout 2014/15.

I provide both Theory, Process and Studio based tuition and support for all Year One students on the combined Graphic Design and Animation courses.

In 2013/14 I completed an Masters Degree in Digital Media achieving a Distinction.

Prior to this I worked in Retail Management for an internationally renowned entertainment company, managing various internal businesses with turnovers in excess of £2 million. I also actively contributed to panels and steering groups helping to shape the brand strategy and customer relationship strategy.

Research and Scholarship

I am currently investigating the design and motion in the context of mixed reality. I am interested in the duality of the mixed reality experience both in its embodied aspect of physical movement in space and its related representational output in digital display. With these aspects in mind I am interested in exploring and testing the influence of affordance and signifier in this mixed interaction space with a view to further examining the potential for intuitive use of mixed reality in the future.
