Dr Faheem Khan joined the School of Computing and Engineering, University of Huddersfield in September 2016 as a Lecturer in Electronic Engineering. His education includes receiving his PhD degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Queen’s University Belfast, a Master’s degree in Communication and Radar Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India, and his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from Aligarh Muslim University, India.  

Dr Khan has significant previous teaching and research experience at academic institutions in the UK, Middle East and India. Prior to joining at University of Huddersfield, he worked as Research Associate in Wireless Communications and Signal Processing at the Institute for Digital Communications, University of Edinburgh where he contributed to project management and research in two EU FP7 research projects, HARP and ADEL.

Dr Khan is a Member of the IEEE since 2002. He is also a member of IEEE Communications Society.

Research and Scholarship

Dr Khan’s current research interests are: Cognitive radios, Licensed shared access (LSA) techniques, MIMO communications, full-duplex communications, millimetre wave communications, 5G systems. He has significant experience of working on EU research projects and has been involved in grants submission for a number of EU and EPSRC projects. Dr Khan has authored over 20 papers in peer-reviewed high-impact journals and international conference proceedings.
