Brunehilde joined the University in October 2015 as part of a two-year Knowledge-Transfer Partnership (KTP) in the Department of Logistics, Operations, Hospitality and Marketing. This KTP is done in association with Reliance Precision Ltd, an Engineering-to-Order SME based in Huddersfield. The aim of the project is to increase Reliance’s competitiveness by carrying out efficiency-improvement projects and by creating a sustainable culture of Continuous Improvement.
Prior to starting the KTP, Brunehilde has completed an MSc in Engineering and Management of Manufacturing Systems at Cranfield University, and a MEng in Computer Integrated Manufacturing at Mines Douai (France). As part of her studies, she has led an information management project with Rolls-Royce, and lean projects with Owen Mumford Ltd. and the SNCF (French Train Company).
Brunehilde’s research interests are around the aspect of continuous improvement and lean implementation. As part of her project she deploys lean techniques such as SMED and Benchmarking and works at sustaining the company’s continuous improvement culture.

The Knowledge Transfer Pratnership (KTP) is aimed at creating an opportunity to share and apply academic knowledge in a specific company. The KTP that Brunehilde is undertaking is taking place from October 2015 to September 2017 with Reliance Precision Ltd, a local SME.
