Biography

Zi Young Kang is a surface and fashion designer and a CAD specialist teaching on BA/BSc (Hons) Textile Practice, BA (Hons) Costume with Textiles, BA (Hons) Fashion Design and BA (Hons) Fashion Communication and Promotion. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Clothing, a master’s degree in Clothing and Textile, a master’s degree in Fashion Design and a PhD degree in Design. Her research interests include surface and garment design, digital design and simulation and textile and fashion history. She is currently involved in a historic costume simulation project, in collaboration with the Museum of London, which explores traditional and digital methods for reproduction of endangered garment relics.
