Biography

Since September 2015 I have been a Senior Lecturer within the Division of Acute Care at the University of Huddersfield. Prior to this I was a Lecturer at Leeds Beckett University; and a Perioperative Practitioner for The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

Administrative Responsibilities

Module Leader: HHO 2007 - Leadership and Management in the Perioperative Environment
Module Leader: HHN 2000 - Frameworks for Clinical Leadership and Management

Teaching and Professional Activities

At present I am the module leader for Leadership and Management in the Perioperative Environment (BSc Hons Operating Department Practice) and Frameworks for Clinical Leadership and Management (BSc Hons Nursing - All Fields). In addition, I offer specialist teaching support in the following subjects: Applied Anatomy & Physiology, Pathophysiology, Research Methodology, Perioperative Practice and Service Improvement (MSc) and Leadership and Management (MSc). I provide personal tutorial to students on the BSc Hons - Operating Department Practice; and I sit on the course assessment boards for BSc Hons - Operating Department Practice and BSc Hons - Nursing - All Fields. I also support students on clinical placement in the perioperative environments at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Spire - Methley Park Hospital. In my role as link tutor I provide clinicians with guidance on assessment and ensure quality assurance of practice placements.
