I joined the University in 1997 and during my time at Huddersfield I have fulfilled a number of roles including module and course leadership of several health related courses. I have special interest in flexible learning and Mentoring. I am an Active member of The Universities Association for Life Long Learning, in which I am the convener for Flexible Learning and Pedagogy, I am also active within the European Mentoring Coaching Council where I fulfill the role of Special advisor.
I have recently completed a number of funded pedagogical projects and published reports that explores and illustrates the use of flexible learning to enhance the learning experience of students. My co-edited volume “the Pedagogy of Social Sciences” and the Higher Education Academy’s “Flexible Learning Practice guide” has proven to be popular to inform curriculum development across the sector. I am currently also leading a NHS England funded project that explores governance, mentoring and its impact within Dental Health Care.
