Daryl joined the university of Huddersfield in 2004 he is currently course leader for BA (Hons) Computer Games Design and leads and lectures on a wide range of games development modules including; 3D design, animation, games protoyping and team project.

Daryl was nominated for teaching awards in both 2012 (Exceptional assessment and Feedback) and 2016 (Enhancing the Student Experience) additional to his teaching and course leadership duties, Daryl runs the Games Specific Guest Lecture Programme and a life drawing class.

Prior to his academic career Daryl worked in a wide range of creative industries including the games industry where he worked on 12 published titles and currently acts as consultant with local games companies. He has also been a studio lead in a graphics studio, production manager, props and set designer in theatre, a commercial sculptor, animatronics designer and a LARP creature designer.

Research and Scholarship

Currently undertaking PhD in: Perceptual and Navigational Cues in Virtual Environments.
