Biography

Taught Biology and General Science up to A level standard for 6 years. 1987 trained as a general nurse in Halifax.  Went on to train as Midwife and a Health Visitor.  Worked as a specialist Health Visitor for the Homeless, Asylum Seekers and Refugees for 3 years, which included qualifying as an independent and supplementary prescriber Took up the role of Practice Learning Facilitator within the Professional Development Department of a local NHS Trust and later became a Lecturer/Practitioner with the Adult Nursing Division at the University of Huddersfield.  This led to becoming a senior lecturer on the Foundation Degree in Police Studies.

Responsibilities

  • Lecturer and Module Leader.
  • Disability Tutor
  • Personal Tutor for 2 cohorts of police officers.
