Biography

I am a social worker registered with the General Social Care Council.  I have worked in Humberside, South Wales and West Yorkshire, in statutory settings with children and families.  For the last ten years I have been an independent practitioner, undertaking therapeutic work with children, training, practice teaching and research.

Responsibilities

I am a personal tutor for level two and level three social work students and for the post-graduate Diploma in Child Welfare.  As such I support students with their studies and through their placements.

Research and Scholarship

I Have recently completed my PhD, at the University of Leeds, School of Education. 
I am interested in the implications of social policy for young children particularly in the area of family support practice.  Encouraging practitioners to consider the participation of young children in decisions about their lives.
As an freelance researcher I have conducted evaluations of Healthcare services for Looked After Children.
