Barbara was appointed to the role of Enterprise Development Manager in the Business School in October 2009, moving from a similar business engagement role at Leeds University Business School.
Following her degree in languages and law at Surrey University, Barbara initially worked in financial services for 14 years, holding administrative management posts at Lloyds Bowmaker and Hill Samuel Bank. Barbara then moved into the education sector, joining the Further Education Funding Council to assist with the establishment of their regional office in Cambridge and then moving to a senior administrative post with the University of Cambridge. In 1999 Barbara joined the University of Leeds and worked with the Institute for Corporate Learning from its inception in 1999 until its incorporation into the Business School in 2004. Continuing the work of the Institute as the Business School’s External Relations Manager, Barbara’s remit covered the development and management of strategic partnerships for teaching, research and knowledge transfer purposes.
