The Vice-Chancellor Fee Waiver and Bursary scheme is for exceptional graduates from the School of Art, Design and Architecture, who have earned a first-class honours degree at undergraduate level, a distinction at Masters Taught level or pass with minor editorial corrections at MA/MSc by Research level.
This is a competitive scheme for graduates from Huddersfield who would like to continue their studies via a research degree (MA/MSc by Research or PhD).
Applicants who have graduated from Huddersfield within 3 years are eligible to apply.
Four Fee Waiver Bursary awards are granted to the best applicants each academic year.
If successful, you can undertake a research degree without tuition fees with a School bursary of £3000 (pro-rata, e.g. if PT, £1500) per academic year within one of the following research centres:

In order to be considered for the Vice-Chancellor Fee Waiver and Bursary (academic year 2020/2021) you will need to apply with a covering letter, research proposal outling the following:
Your application should list the names and contact detials of two academic referees who will be able to provide references as part of your application.
Your application (online application, covering letter, research proposal and references) will be reviewed by a panel of academic staff.
If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to attend an interview with the Associate Dean for Research and Enterprise and the Director of Graduate Education.
If you are successful at interview, you will be notified by the School Research Office and the University will issue you with an offer letter.
Please note that the Vice-Chancellor Research Degree Award scheme is highly competitive award with only four awards being granted to the best applicants each year.
