For almost 10 years the university has used the concept of Areas of Strategic Research Importance (ASRIs) as a means to increase critical mass and foster world class performance in a range of research areas. With this phase of the University’s strategic research development nearing completion, attention is now being focussed on using the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations as pathways to demonstrate the impact that the University’s research has.
