We regret to announce that the Sixth International Performance Studies Network Conference has had to be postponed for a second time, owing to the uncertainties around large-scale events in 2021. It is hoped that the event will take place in July 2022; those who had proposals accepted for inclusion in the event planned for 2020 will be contacted in due course.
The University of Huddersfield is proud to host the 2020 Sixth International Performance Studies Network Conference. We look forward to welcoming delegates from across the globe to share research about performance, including practice-based research, research-dynamic performances, and much more.
This year’s conference will include papers, lecture-recital, fora and other presentations on topics ranging from Audiences and Performers; the Body and Performance; Collaboration; Gender, Sexuality and Performance; Improvisation; Methodologies; Notation; Organology and New Music; Performance and Analysis; Performers and Recordings; Re-Imagining Historically Informed performance; Virtuosity; and much more, covering genres, practices and repertoire from across the globe, from the medieval to the present day.
Alongside these, each day will include research-concerts, featuring performances and presentations given by leading professional ensembles, including Apartment House, Boxwood and Brass, Meiningen Ensemble, the Rose Consort of Viols, and Union Division.
All this plus great food, company, Yorkshire air, and the world’s finest beer!
