Human Rights

Human rights is an area of law that encompasses several fields covered by members of CLEAR. These fields include:

• Children’s rights
• Disability rights
• Family law
• Rights of asylum seekers and refugees
• Employment law
• Social security
• Criminal law
• Public law

The Centre collaborates with a range of partners to carry out high quality research on contemporary issues in these fields. These partners are based both nationally in Huddersfield and Kirklees and across the UK and internationally, including through a relationship with the Royal Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Centre’s members proactively research legislation and policy, regularly publishing in high quality journals and other outlets, and make frequent appearances at conferences and other events.
