Welcome to the Institute for Applied Artificial Intelligence (IAAI) at the University of Huddersfield
The Institute for Applied Artificial Intelligence brings together expertise from across the University of Huddersfield to advance responsible, interdisciplinary and applied AI. It provides a visible and inclusive home for research and innovation that applies AI to real problems across disciplines, sectors and communities.
Our work is organised around two connected pillars. Research supports the development, adaptation and evaluation of AI within specific domains, including academic research itself. Innovation works with businesses, industry, public sector and civic partners to translate AI expertise into practical value.
We build on the University’s established strengths while remaining open to new domains, questions and collaborations. Through research, partnership and knowledge exchange, we aim to deliver meaningful regional, national and international impact, underpinned by responsibility, trust, ethics and transparency.
