We're a diverse team at the University of Huddersfield, UK, specializing in psychoacoustics research, digital audio signal processing, and music production. Our goal is to address real-world issues in audio and music, offering perceptually-driven engineering solutions and advancing knowledge in human auditory perception, quality perception, production techniques, and user experience. The Centre comprises two groups: Applied Psychoacoustics Lab (APL) focuses on human auditory mechanisms and algorithm development, while Music and Audio Production (MAP) explores new music production techniques and tool usability. Our spatial and immersive audio research is globally recognized, demonstrated by the 4-star impact case study in the Research Excellence Framework 2021, showcasing our significant contributions to the audio industry.
