MIAMI-1 is a custom-designed system consisting of a JEOL JEM-2000FX transmission electron microscope (TEM) connected to an ion accelerator. This system was developed and constructed by Dr Jonathan Hinks, Professor Stephen Donnelly and Prof Jaap van den Berg with funding from the UK’s Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
