The Forum for Platform Design and Mass Customisation in Construction was launched in July 2019 at the University of Huddersfield along with leading research teams and public-private sector organisations.

The Forum is a collaborative platform of researchers and the industry, and acts as an inspiration for the further development of innovative activities in construction, in particular for the platform design and mass customisation.

The Forum is a collaborative platform of researchers and the industry, and its members represent construction, manufacturing, research, energy and digital sectors. It acts as an inspiration for the further development of innovative activities in construction to collaboratively transform the construction industry and inform policy makers.

The members of the Forum will be invited for a series of workshops, which are forums for networking, presenting exemplar best practices and learning from mistakes in a safe and collaborative environment. Also, the members will be involved in industry-research bids and will benefit from findings of projects to champion the industry in the application of transformative methods of construction.

The Forum initially concentrates on how the industry can manufacture buildings and optimise the lifecycle performance of buildings through the platform approach and mass customisation and moves towards becoming a major player in developing offsite solutions to tackle the challenges that the industry faces.

If you are happy to be listed as a member of the Forum, then please provide a short paragraph of 150-200 words with appropriate links to your corporate website and an appropriate logo. Please send these to idl-transformingconstruction@hud.ac.uk.
