Facilities and equipment

The TRG is located in the Researcher Hub Building, at the centre of Huddersfield Queensgate Campus, with its laboratory facilities housed in the Technology Building. Additionally the TRI benefits from access to a number of state-of-the-art facilities across campus such as the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre on Firth Street which can be used for meetings, workshops, conferences and remote offices for pilot research-industry innovation enterprise ventures, as well as expertise available through existing research groups such as the Centre for Precision Technology (CPT) and the Centre for High Performance Intelligent Computing (CHIC).

For our research work we use state of the art simulation software: Ansys, GT-Power and DyRobes and are developing our own specialist software applications.

Our lab equipment includes:

• Steady state and transient engine dynamometers
• 2 wheel chassis dynamometer
• Electrodynamic and servohydraulic shakers for vibration testing
