National Stalking Awareness Week #NSAW
National Stalking Awareness week is held annually to raise public awareness about stalking. It is nationally led by the Suzy Lamplugh Trust and the National Stalking Consortium,
#NSAW 2024
NSAW 2024 takes place 22nd-26th August, the national theme is “joining forces” against stalking, effective multi agency working. With partners from the Kirklees stalking hub the researchers will host a market place event on the university campus.
We will use this as an opportunity to share the stalking awareness raising resource developed by the lived experience group “From first dates to stalking”.

#NSAW 2023
In 2023 the national theme was stalking amongst young people and ran from 24th to 28th April. During the week the action research project team were involved in a number of activities with partner agencies these included;
25th April 2023
Market place event with stalls from local services which offer support to victims of stalking and violence against women and girls. The researchers asked students to complete the young peoples stalking awareness survey which was ongoing on this date. Promoting awareness about #NSAW, stalking and local support services available. This was the first time the event was marked on the university campus.

The principal investigator and a representative from Kirklees Domestic abuse Community Engagement Team joined Change Grow Live outreach staff on their, Women’s Safety Bus and promoted #NSAW and raised awareness about stalking.
