The register can be searched using:

  • The name of a researcher. Type the first name, last name or full name for a researcher and click on the 'Researcher' button. The search will return the records of the projects for the researcher having the same first name, last name or full name. The full name of a researcher should be enclosed in double-quotation marks, for example - "Clifford Fraser", otherwise the search result will include any researcher whose first name or last name is 'Clifford' or 'Fraser'.
     
  • The name of a research institution. Type the full name or a relevant part of the name for an institution and then click on the 'Institution' button. The search will return the records of the projects for the institution having the same full name or part name. The full name of an institution should be enclosed in double-quotation marks, for example - "University of Huddersfield", otherwise the search result will include any institution whose name includes the word 'university'.
     
  • One or more words or phrases.Type one or more words, phrases or any mix of words and phrases (phrases should be enclosed in double-quotation marks, for example "health visitors") and click on the 'Words and phrases' button. The search will return a list of the records of the projects whose content includes at least one of the words or phrases, with those matching the largest number of words and phrases shown at the top of the list.

Your search terms

  • Any word in your the search terms must comprise only of alphabet characters (a-z, A-Z), dashes (-) or single quotation marks ('). Where the word is not a part of a full name or phrase in double-quotation marks, then it must contain at least four characters. Each word, full name or phrase in your search terms must be separated from its neighbour only by a 'space' and not by any punctuation mark.
     
  • Where any word is not a part of a full name or phrase in double quotation marks, appending an asterisk (*) to the word will add to your search terms any other word that begins with the word. For example, a search for parent* will also include searches for other relevent words, such as 'parents', 'parental', 'parenting' and 'parenthood', but also irrelevant words (for example, 'parenthesis').
